THE CONVERSATION

Where authors tell the story behind the story.

Forget the standard “tell us about your book” interview.

The Conversation is a long-form Readers of Two Cities experience built around meaningful, unfiltered conversations with authors about their books, their creative process, and the stories that stay with us.

We go beyond the blurb to explore characters, themes, inspiration, worldbuilding, writing choices, challenges, and the ideas behind the pages.

Because sometimes the best part of a book is the conversation it starts.

Come for the story. Stay for the conversation.

What Does The Conversation Entail?

The Conversation is a 60-minute deep dive into your book and the story behind it.

This isn't a quick promotional interview. It's an opportunity to slow down, go beyond the book blurb, and actually talk about the work.

During The Conversation, we'll explore the following areas…

📖 The Story

  • What inspired the book

  • The story you wanted to tell

  • What drew you to this particular premise

  • The themes and ideas woven throughout the novel

👥 The Characters

  • Character creation and development

  • Character relationships

  • Motivations, flaws, and choices

  • Characters who surprised you while writing

  • Who you connected with most — and who drove you crazy

✍️ The Writing

  • Your writing process

  • How the story developed

  • Difficult scenes or decisions

  • Things that changed between the first idea and final book

  • Your favorite parts to write

💭 Beyond the Pages

  • What you hope readers take away

  • Questions you want readers to think about

  • Themes that matter to you

  • What the book means to you now that it's finished

📝 The Author

And, of course, you.

We'll talk about your journey as an author, what you've learned, the realities of writing and publishing, and whatever else naturally comes up along the way.

Most importantly...

There is no rigid script. I'll come prepared with questions and topics based on your book, but The Conversation is designed to be an actual conversation, not a checklist.

If something interesting comes up, we follow it. If there's a story behind a character, we talk about it. If there's something you've never been asked about your book before, that's exactly the kind of thing I want to uncover.

60 minutes. One book. One author. One really good conversation.
